Feature: Payment Methods

In this article, you’ll be given an overview of the different payment methods you can use to collect money from your customers using the Bodillo System.

There are 3 main payment methods – PAYG, Subscription and Pay Upfront. These can all be found, set up and managed from the Payments and Billing Section in your admin centre.

PAYG:

PAYG is used when you want to allow your participants to book and pay for individual sessions. Our system allows customers to pay for multiple PAYG sessions at a time.

  • Customers pay for individual sessions.
  • Customers can multi-select the dates of the session they want to join.
  • Customers will receive a booking confirmation email
  • Failed payments: Customers are sent nudge emails to amend their card details

Subscription:

Subscription is used when you want to spread the cost of your sessions over a certain number of months, or even every month of the year. This is a very popular method for our system users because it means that you will automatically collect payments from your customers each month on a day of your choosing, without having to chase anyone.

  • Receipts: Sent monthly to customers.
  • Pro-rata: Customers that join midway through a month will be charged pro-rata (meaning, if they join half way through a month, they’ll only pay for half, handy!). They’ll then automatically pay the full amount for each month after that.
  • Billing:
    • Billing is fixed. This means your customer will always pay the same monthly amount, even if one month is shorter than another.
    • Pauses when there is a break between date blocks (or there is an exclusion date set).
    • Stops when date block is not marked as active.
    • Stops if customer is deleted off a session (club owner must then allocate refunds at their desecration).
  • Failed payments:
    • Customers are sent nudge emails to amend their card details

Pay upfront:

Pay Upfront is when you want to collect the cost of your sessions for the whole date block at the time of booking. Again, any participants joining after the start of the date block will be charged pro rata for the amount of sessions remaining.

  • Pro-rata: Customers that join midway through a date block will be charged pro-rata (meaning, if they join half way through a date block, they’ll only pay for half, handy!). They’ll then automatically pay the full amount for each date block after that.
  • Customers will receive a booking confirmation email
  • Failed payments: customers are sent nudge emails to amend their card details
