How to: Set up Mandatory Additional Fees

In this article,  I’ll show you how to set up a mandatory additional fee using the Bodillo system. There are 2 additional fee options ‘one-off’ and ‘recurring’. Let’s take a look at how you set each one up below.


One-off:

This is a single payment the participant will have to pay one time only. E.g. membership fee. Learn how to set one up here.

Payments & Billing:

Go to ‘Payments & Billing’ section in the side menu, then select ‘Additional Fees’. Here, you’ll have the option to amend an existing fee’s, or create a new one. 

Step 1: To create a new addition fee,  click the ‘Create New’ button. 

Step 2: Fill out the details about your fee and click ‘next’.

Name: Something identifiable for customers
Heading: A quick explanation about the fee
Notes: Your chance to justify or explain the fee
Fee amount: The amount you wish to charge
Late joiners pay full amount: If toggled on, late joiners pay full about, if left toggled off, the fee amount will be calculated on a pro rata basis. 

Step 3: Choose ‘one-off fee’ and then click the ‘save’ button. 

And that’s it! Your one-off fee will now be allocated to each of your participants, and they’ll only have to pay it once. Let’s check out how to set up a recurring one below. 


Recurring:

This is a repeat payment that the participant will have to pay, either yearly or every new date block. E.g. membership or insurance fee. Learn how to set one up here.

Step 1: Head over to the ‘Payments & Billing’ section in the side menu, then select ‘Additional Fees’.

Step 2: To create a new addition fee,  click the ‘Create New’ button. 

Step 3: Fill out the details about your fee and click ‘next’.

Fee amount: The amount you wish to charge
Late joiners pay full amount: If toggled on, late joiners pay full about, if left toggled off, the fee amount will be calculated on a pro rata basis. 

Step 4: Choose ‘recurring fee’ and then ‘next’.

Step 5: Choose whether you want this fee to repeat yearly, or every date block. Then click the ‘save’ button. 

That’s it! Your fee will now either repeat once a year, or once every active date block for each participant.
